Dettmer Rail GmbH is an expanding company
with a young team that is committed to environmentally friendly rail freight transport. We offer our customers solutions on the European rail network,
including interfaces with other modes of transport. One of our core tasks is to ensure that our customers’ supply needs are met by consignees on the rail side. We work together with a large number of national and international partners and customers. Dettmer Rail GmbH is a member of Dettmer Group KG,
a group of companies that has been providing logistics services for its customers for five decades and has around 1,900 employees.
We are strengthening our team due to successful, continued growth.
We are now looking for:
Rail coordinator (candidates from related industries wishing to change career are welcome)
What you will do:
- You receive block train orders from our customers and coordinate them with the dispatch and reception points.
- You organise transportation with our service partners and commission them.
- In the event of service cancellations, you actively seek alternatives for our clients.
- You keep our customers as well as dispatch and reception points informed about the transport status, independently identify irregularities in the transport process, document them and actively contribute to resolving them.
- You record planning and current transport data in our IT systems.
- You receive damage reports on faulty wagons and organise their repair in coordination with our Fleet Management department.
- You may also be responsible for the planning and materials planning of deployed wagon fleets, as well as supply planning for individual tank terminals.
Your skills and qualifications:
- Completed commercial training – candidates from other industries wishing to change career are also welcome here.
- Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders, a high focus on service and flexibility in dealing with unexpected changes in day-to-day operations.
- A keen sense of responsibility and reliability in all you do.
- Diligence in order execution and tracking, as well as an affinity for IT.
- Ability to make independent decisions and work in a team.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is desirable but not mandatory.

Freight forwarding and logistics services clerk
What you will learn:
- The basics of all transport and logistics processes
- Various ways of organising freight transport with different railways throughout Europe
- How to communicate with customers, suppliers and service providers, as well as internally, at all levels, by mail, phone and digitally
- All about handling dangerous goods and dangerous goods logistics
