We offer our national and international customers solutions in the European rail network, including interfaces to other modes of transport. Dettmer Rail GmbH is a member of the family-run Dettmer Group KG, in which more than 1300 employees ensure success within a widely diversified logistics service spectrum.
We are looking to recruit a
Rail Coordinator (m/f/d)
Your functions and duties:
- To receive our customers' block train orders and coordinate these with the dispatch and receiving stations.
- To organise the transportation runs with our service partners and commission them.
- In the event of a service being cancelled, to actively search for alternative solutions for our customers.
- To keep our customers and the dispatch and receiving stations, informed regarding the current transport service status, to identify and document any irregularities in the process of your own accord and actively contribute towards resolving them.
- To enter planned and actual transport service data into our IT systems.
- To receive damage reports for defective wagons and organise repairs in liaison with our fleet management team.
- Your area of may responsibilty may also include the planning and scheduling of deployed wagon fleets, as well as the planning of supply services for individual tank storage facilities.
Your qualifications:
- You have completed a commercial apprenticeship – we also welcome career changers from other industries..
- You have the ability to communicate positively with all of the parties concerned, a high level of service orientation and adopt an agile approach when daling with spontaneous changes in day-to-day operations.
- You have a pronounced sense of responsibility and demonstrate reliability skills.
- You are characterised by diligence in job execution and tracking, as well as IT affinity.
- You enjoy making decision on your own authority and working within a team.
- Although fluency in written and spoken English wolud be desirable, it is not a mandatory requirement..

Freight forwarding and logistics services clerk
What you will learn:
- The basics of all transport and logistics processes
- Various ways of organising freight transport with different railways throughout Europe
- How to communicate with customers, suppliers and service providers, as well as internally, at all levels, by mail, phone and digitally
- All about handling dangerous goods and dangerous goods logistics
