SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
For us, supply chain management is the development and organisation of broken transport chains in which rail and inland waterway services are linked via a direct transshipment.
Such transport chains combine international sources and sinks whose loading and unloading facilities are designed either for barges only or for tank wagons only. Our expertise is in planning, organising and carrying out rail transport and direct transshipment at the tank farm for you. Depending on customer requirements, we are also happy to add inland waterway transport to the chain.
On the east–west axis, the Dettmer Group’s MUT Magdeburg tank farm is particularly suitable for this type of transshipment, as here we have access to the skills
of Dettmer Liquid Cargo Solution and this is where they can best be bundled and networked.
We also cooperate along the Rhine axis with tank terminals where direct transshipment is possible and can therefore always meet your logistical preferences.
Alternatively, we can switch between traffic arteries depending on the waterway levels.
The integration of several service elements requires considerable planning and coordination effort within supply chain management. Our job is to relieve you of such time-consuming tasks. Today, we can carry out one or two orders per week for our supply chain management customers, linking Southeast Europe with the western North Sea ports, for example.
