Block train services
The work involved in organising our block train transport services is divided into four stages:
- 1. Understanding the customer’s needs.
- 2. Planning a custom-fit solution by Dettmer Rail specialists.
- 3. Managing orders with all of the parties concerned.
- 4. Monitoring implementation of the transport service.
Working with Dettmer Rail saves you time in dealing with the complex “railway” system and frees up time for your core tasks. Our strength lies in the development, organisation and implemention of block train transport services with sensitive liquid goods throughout the European rail infrastructure. The diversity of our service partners offers flexibility in the preparation of offers and performance of services.
We attach great importance to our ability to use several trains on the same routes in order to further enhance the quality of our service performance. Or we can discuss locomotives that are exclusively available to meet your transportation requirements. The core countries of our operational activities are Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic, as well as Southeastern Europe in collaboration with our service office in Budapest and selected routes in Italy. Our scheduling team is familiar with all of the service elements that get trains moving and communicates with our service partners at the detail level required in each case. We constantly aim to increase the use of modern, energy-efficient locomotives and the proportion of green electricity to help mitigate the effects of climate change.
Our service partners
Plan trains
Control trains
Monitor trains
Communicative, highly qualified dispatchers control and monitor your orders.
The networking of our employees within the railway market, and with forwarding and receiving stations, enables us to find alternative solutions on the rare occasions when things don`t go as they should. However, we are also bound by the underlying conditions that apply to operations on the railway infrastructure. If you entrust the scheduling of the wagon fleet to us and allow us to perform the transport services and provide the wagons for you, our dispatchers will also plan the allocation of wagon sets for each order within the framework of a one-stop loading and scheduling service.
Our team uses a modern IT system and various monitoring modules, which enable it to monitor the transport runs independently of reports from the service partners. If a wagon becomes damaged during its journey in the railway network, the scheduling department documents the incident and joins forces with our fleet management team to have the wagon repaired as quickly as possible.
