Block train services

We divide our block train transport services into four subsections:

Working with Dettmer Rail saves you time in dealing with the complex ‘railway’ system and frees you up for your core tasks. Our strength lies in the development, organisation and execution of block train transportation with sensitive liquid goods on the European rail infrastructure. . The diversity of our service partners provides flexibility in preparing quotations and implementing services.

To further enhance the quality of our service provision, we attach importance to being able to use several trains on the same routes. Alternatively, we can discuss using locomotives that are available exclusively for your transport needs. The core countries of our activities are Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic and, in collaboration with our service office in Budapest, the region of Southeast Europe alongside selected lines in Italy. Our materials planning team is familiar with every operational element that gets trains moving and communicates with our service partners at the level of detail required in each case. We pursue the goal of increasing the use of energy-efficient and modern locomotives, as well as the proportion of green energy to help mitigate climate change.

Monitor trains

Communicative and well-trained schedulers control and monitor your orders.

The connections our employees have, both in the rail market and to dispatch and reception points, enable us to create alternative solutions when things don’t go quite as they should. Either way, we too are subject to the framework conditions of operations on track infrastructure. . If you also entrust us with materials planning of the wagon fleet or with carrying out transport services including provision of wagons for you, our schedulers will also plan the order allocation of the wagon sets so that loading and transport planning are from a single source.

Our team uses a modern IT system and various monitoring modules to monitor transportation independently of notifications from service partners. If a wagon becomes defective on its way across the rail network, the materials planning department documents the incident and, together with our fleet management team, repairs it as quickly as possible.
